Somerset Bible Chapel 

The Worship Service for Sunday March 23rd was opened with Erik Picard giving the announcements. Katie DeRoo, on behalf of the refugee sponsorship committee gave an update on the family the church has been assisting in recent years. 

Jamie and Brianna Small led the music. Clayton Kimber led the Prayer Focus. Jon Timmerman was the usher, and the Scripture reading was given by Rachel Picard. 

The music selections included “Everlasting God”, “This is Amazing Grace”, “What Blessed Assurance”, “Lord, I Need You” and, in closing, “Be Thou My Vision”. 

Following the reading of 2 Corinthians 1:12- 24, Pastor Jeff Peacock continued the study of this small book of the New Testament. This segment “Integrity Defended” finds the author explaining travel plans that had changed from 1 Cor. 16:5-9 as he closed a previous letter. 

A map of Paul’s Third Missionary Journey through Asia Minor, Macedonia and Greece gave illustrations of how a sea voyage between Ephesus and Corinth became a longer land journey around the coastline of the Aegean Sea between modern day Turkey and Greece. 

Integrity involves Honesty, Faithfulness, Character and reputation, Confidence - all elements that should be plain to see. Day by day living showing simplicity (not deceit), a godly sincerity,  and a trust in God to be at work. 

Integrity can show a wisdom given by the grace of God, a sense of right and wrong (not vacillating); being faithful and honest followers of Jesus. In so doing, a person becomes a reflection of the nature and character of Jesus Christ, bringing glory to God.  

The Junior class (Gr. 4-6) had a lesson from the book of Daniel with a guest teacher, Teresa Acheson, who introduced herself to the students with some pictures from her own Sunday School days with some of their parents. 

The adult Sunday School class focused on the prophet Micah, a contemporary of Isaiah. At the time the people of Israel were being threatened by invaders from Assyria.
