The Sunday Morning Worship Service of Feb. 25 opened with Abe Klassen doing the announcements. The Youth Group will be doing a retreat late March at Turtle Mountain Bible Camp. Brianna Small, Youth Coordinator, was calling for permission sheets to be in by Wed. the 28th. for processing.
Emery and Katie DeRoo were the music team. Singing opened with “Come Now Is The Time To Worship” and “Open the Eyes of my Heart”. Erik Picard led the Prayer Focus. Jonathan Timmerman was the usher. During the collection, a new song to the congregation “Your Will Be Done” began as a duet, then, as the words were on the wall, the congregation joined in gradually.
Singing continued with “His Mercy is More”, “Abide With Me” and “Jesus, Strong and Kind”.
Pastor Jeff read the Bible lesson from Romans 1:16-32. In this 2nd half of the chapter, the author Paul first proclaims his own boldness in proclaiming the good news of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. He says it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Paul, however, had suffered much physically and mentally in the years just before writing to the church in Rome.
In the section of verses 18-32 Paul describes a wide variety of human activities that reveal ungodliness and unrighteousness. He declares that they are attracting the wrath of God and the natural consequences of their sins.
The sermon closed with prayer. The closing hymn was “Jesus Paid It All” and the benediction was 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17, a call to stand firm for the truth.
The devotional booklets “Our Daily Bread” for the March/April/May quarter are available in the foyer. The daily readings are also available on an app on mobile devices, or by email with links that bring up the Scripture reading for the day.
